The private licensed restaurant with waitress service can cater for all dietary needs. There is a choice from the daily chef's specials to a comprehensive a la carte menu.
The comfortable residents air conditioned lounge has a 42 inch plasma screen TV with video and DVD player with regular film afternoons. A hearing loop is installed for the benefit of residents and we are now building up a library of DVDs, videos and talking books.
The local mobile library visits once a month. We also have the benefit of a small hairdressing salon, with a hairdresser coming in on a regular basis. The salon also provides space for therapeutic massage which is available by arrangement with a qualified practitioner.
Our own housekeeping team can provide support on a daily or weekly basis as required and will also take care of your laundry needs. Domestic maintenance problems can be handled by our on-site maintenance team or by local vetted contractors.
Regular visits are made by a local chiropodist, opticians and we also enjoy newspapers and milk delivered to apartments. Lodge staff will also take care of your shopping requirements on a weekly basis. The residents may also take up the opportunityof a weekly excercise to music class specifically designed for the elderly.
The village of Sawbridgeworth is only one mile away, where the GP surgery and local dentist can be found together with a reasonable range of shops catering for most needs. Larger shopping facilities are available in the near by towns of Bishops Stortford and Harlow which are within 15 minutes drive and are also on the local bus routes. If necessary an additional personal care package can be sourced from a local agency.
